The Internets killed a Legend...

I went in to get Fergie and the best of Prince and found out that Tower's is being shut down. Apparently lagging sales partly due to Internet purchasing through sites like itunes(THANKS ANNIE AND MONIQUE:-) are one of the reasons. Actually I hardly ever buy anything there because It's so expensive but still liked browsing now and then. Oh well, a little part of my childhood just died.

Went to a car show this weekend...

Most of the cars were ok but this one caught my eye. I've always really liked the 41 Willys, it just looks tough. There also was a 55 Chevy truck that I liked but I couldn't get a good picture. No, this isn't a Mustang Annie:-)).

“Sighted Bus, Sunk Same”

I was skimming through a book about WWII Subs and decided to look up the one docked at Pearl Harbor, the USS Bowfin. During a War patrol the sub followed a 3 ship convoy into a harbor and engaged it. The Bowfin’s first Torpedo salvo missed and ended up hitting a Pier. When the Pier blew up it took a Crane and School Bus with it. Consequently the USS Bowfin is the only US Submarine with a Crane and Bus on its Battle Flag. The Captain reported back to Pearl Harbor and said “Sighted Bus, Sunk Same”. For some reason I find this so funny.
